 As we close the largest 40 Days for Life campaign in history ... the following things can be said about what God can do in just 40 days: 40 days ago ... ... there were children scheduled to be aborted who are alive today -- 732 that we know of, 11 in Baton Rouge, La! Baton Rouge alone had over 1100 people come out to pray and for many of them it was their first time!?Since 2007 40 Days for Life mobilized people of faith and conscience in 337 cities across all 50 of the United States plus communities in Canada, Australia, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Spain, Denmark, Georgia, Armenia and Belize.?During these unified efforts, participants witnessed countless blessings from God:    •    1,332 individual campaigns have taken place in 387 cities    •    More than 400,000 have joined together in an historic display of unity to pray and fast for an end to abortion    •    More than 13,000 church congregations have participated in the 40 Days for Life campaigns   •    Reports document 4,313 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about?    •    53 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry   •    16 abortion facilities completely shut down following local 40 Days for Life campaigns   •    Hundreds of women and men have been spared from the tragic effects of abortion, including a lifetime of regrets    •    More than 1,500 news stories have been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio shows and TV programs from coast to coast ... and overseas •    Many people with past abortion experiences have stepped forward to begin post-abortion healing and recovery After so many years of legalized abortion, many people of faith are experiencing a renewed sense of hope!

Bobby's life took a dramatic and unexpected turn in February of 1990 when Terri, suddenly collapsed and was left with a profound brain injury. During the time when Terri's estranged husband sought court permission to starve and dehydrate her to death, Bobby was suddenly propelled into a life he'd never imagined. He spoke in defense of his sister's life on numerous national television and radio programs including Hannity & Colmes, Larry King Live, the Oprah Winfrey Show, The Glenn Beck Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, The Today Show, Dateline NBC, the 700 Club, EWTN and many others.

"My sister was the first court ordered case, ordering someone to die this way!"' Terri Schindler Schiavo died from dehydration under the order of Circuit Court Judge, George W. Greer.  This could happen to anyone!  It doesn't matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican.  Feeding tubes are now being recognized now as extraordinary care!  Through all this experience some positive things did happened and one being that Terri helped bring me back to Christ!

Bobby has now working full time with the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation. Pray it daily and make it known to the world. Anyone who teaches it will not be lost. Innocent souls in heaven will not let them become lost. I, with My Love and Mercy, will protect them from falling into mortal sin."  Heavenly Father, Your love is eternal. In Your ocean of love, You saved the world through Your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Now look at Your only Son on the Cross Who is constantly bleeding for love of His people, and forgive Your world. Purify and baptize aborted children with the Precious Blood and water from the Sacred Side of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Who hung dead on the Cross for their salvation; in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. May they, through the holy death of Jesus Christ, gain everlasting life, through His wounds be healed and through His Precious Blood  freed. There to rejoice with the saints in heaven. Amen.

  Pro-Life Prayer for Our President and
Public Officials

Lord God, Author of Life and Source of Eternal Life, move the hearts of all our public officials and especially our President, to fulfill their responsibilities worthily and well to all those entrusted to their care. Help them in their special leadership roles, to extend the mantle of protection to the most vulnerable, especially the defenseless unborn, whose lives are threatened with extermination by an indifferent society. Guide all public officials by your wisdom and grace to cease supporting any law that fails to protect the fundamental good that is human life itself, which is a gift from God and parents. You are the Protector and Defender of the lives of the innocent unborn. Change the hearts of those who compromise the call to protect and defend life. Bring our nation to the values that have made us a great nation, a society that upholds the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Mary, the Mother of the living, help us to bear witness to the Gospel of Life with our lives and our laws, through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

The Bishop’s Annual Respect Life Rally

The Bishop’s Respect Life Rally kicked off at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2008.  The rally was well attended with various age groups and attendees from many parishes throughout the diocese.  The two, first place winners of the Annual Pro-Life Orator Speech Contest, Ashely White and Stephen Brown gave their speeches. The speech contest is sponsored by the Office of Marriage and family Life of the Diocese of Baton Rouge.  Fr. "Tad" Tadeusz Pacholczyk PhD, director of Education of the National Catholic Bioethics Center then gave his address.  He eloquently explained the Church’s view on stem cell research. He explained that the Church is not opposed to stem cell research but the destruction of embryonic stem cells. He went on to explain the adult stem cells have been very effective in aiding many conditions such as different types of Leukemia, spinal cord injuries, heart and brain injuries.  The embryonic stem cell has not involved one advancement in the medical or science fields.   Fr. Tad also stated that vitro fertilization has led to embryonic stem cell research because extra embryos are made and frozen and it is those embryos that can be used for research.  Also, only the frozen embryos are allowed to be used that were developed before President Bush passed a law to not allow further “research/destruction” of embryos. Fr. Tad stated that there are NOW over a half-million frozen humans in the Unites States alone.
 “It’s a scandal that the nation has not begun to confront.”
