Please Pray this Prayer for the Baptism of Aborted Babies
(29 July 1998)
From the Precious Blood Devotion approved by the
local Bishop of Nigeria

Jesus' prayer to God the Father from the Cross
"Today the blood of innocent children has filled heaven. Their number is too great, too great . . . the wrath of the Eternal Father is about to fall on mankind...Their blood disturbs My Agonizing Heart and increases My agony...Through this prayer, large numbers of innocent unborn babies will be saved. Pray it daily and make it known to the world. Anyone who teaches it will not be lost. Innocent souls in heaven will not let them become lost. I, with My Love and Mercy, will protect them from falling into mortal sin."  Heavenly Father, Your love is eternal. In Your ocean of love, You saved the world through Your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Now look at Your only Son on the Cross Who is constantly bleeding for love of His people, and forgive Your world. Purify and baptize aborted children with the Precious Blood and water from the Sacred Side of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Who hung dead on the Cross for their salvation; in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. May they, through the holy death of Jesus Christ, gain everlasting life, through His wounds be healed and through His Precious Blood  freed. There to rejoice with the saints in heaven. Amen.

Bishop Baker of Birmingham has asked us to pray for our Public Officials.

Pro-Life Prayer for Our President and
Public Officials

Lord God, Author of Life and Source of Eternal Life, move the hearts of all our public officials and especially our President, to fulfill their responsibilities worthily and well to all those entrusted to their care. Help them in their special leadership roles, to extend the mantle of protection to the most vulnerable, especially the defenseless unborn, whose lives are threatened with extermination by an indifferent society. Guide all public officials by your wisdom and grace to cease supporting any law that fails to protect the fundamental good that is human life itself, which is a gift from God and parents. You are the Protector and Defender of the lives of the innocent unborn. Change the hearts of those who compromise the call to protect and defend life. Bring our nation to the values that have made us a great nation, a society that upholds the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Mary, the Mother of the living, help us to bear witness to the Gospel of Life with our lives and our laws, through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Imprimatur: January 22, 2009 + Most Reverend Robert J. Baker Bishop of
Birmingham in Alabama

Pope John Paul II, The Gospel of Life
(Evangelium Vitae), n. 100.

"A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer.”

Prayer to End Abortion

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,
And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.

I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,
Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death
by the Resurrection of Your Son.

I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.
Today I commit myself
Never to be silent,
Never to be passive,
Never to be forgetful of the unborn.

I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement,
And never to stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,
And our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice
Not just for some, but for all.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Keynote Speaker, Rev. Dr. Tadeusz Pacholczyk, PhD
Director of the National Catholic Bioethics Cente
The Bishop’s Annual Respect Life Rally

The Bishop’s Respect Life Rally kicked off at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2008.  The rally was well attended with various age groups and attendees from many parishes throughout the diocese.  The two, first place winners of the Annual Pro-Life Orator Speech Contest, Ashely White and Stephen Brown gave their speeches. The speech contest is sponsored by the Office of Marriage and family Life of the Diocese of Baton Rouge.  Fr. "Tad" Tadeusz Pacholczyk PhD, director of Education of the National Catholic Bioethics Center then gave his address.  He eloquently explained the Church’s view on stem cell research. He explained that the Church is not opposed to stem cell research but the destruction of embryonic stem cells. He went on to explain the adult stem cells have been very effective in aiding many conditions such as different types of Leukemia, spinal cord injuries, heart and brain injuries.  The embryonic stem cell has not involved one advancement in the medical or science fields.   Fr. Tad also stated that vitro fertilization has led to embryonic stem cell research because extra embryos are made and frozen and it is those embryos that can be used for research.  Also, only the frozen embryos are allowed to be used that were developed before President Bush passed a law to not allow further “research/destruction” of embryos. Fr. Tad stated that there are NOW over a half-million frozen humans in the Unites States alone.
“It’s a scandal that the nation has not begun to confront.”

The rally finished off with a rosary march outside on the diocese’s courtyard lead by the youth and the Knights of Columbus.  For further information on the National Catholic Bioethics Center visit http://www.ncbcenter.org/

Update on 2 babies saved from abortion:
During the holidays we were contacted by 2 young mothers that this ministry helped when they chose life for their babies instead of abortion.
1)      Samantha, Larry and their baby, Layton :  Samantha stopped to talk to our sidewalk counselor & was dissuaded from abortion through the info offered her.  After Layton’s birth, Samantha & Larry joined us in a Rosary march & personally thanked this ministry for all the prayer support & financial help that they received.  The Clarion Herald was present at that Rosary march & did a front-page story for the next issue.  Layton was born on 9/24/2007 & for his first year, he suffered many respiratory problems & the doctors had trouble getting a firm diagnosis.  Now he is doing better & can be placed in daycare so that Samantha can work & help Larry with their financial problems.
2)      The 2nd young mother, who wants to remain anonymous, was helped initially through extensive phone counseling.  After deciding to have their baby, the couple was helped through continued contact with Pam.  The baby was born 15 months ago & we attended the baptism.  The parents contacted us on Christmas Day & we setup a visit at their apt. on Dec. 28th.  They were very happy to see us again & expressed sincere appreciation for the counseling they received that saved their baby’s life.  During our visit we found out that their old car was in the shop & needed expensive repairs.

This ministry has helped financially those families who have decided against abortion.  If you would like to make a donation to help these 2 young families, you can donate in 2 ways:  1) Write your check to “John or Pam Richard” and mail it to the address listed below.  2) If you prefer to obtain a tax-deduction for your donation, then make your check to “NORTL Educational Fund” and write “Sidewalk Counseling” on the memo line and mail it also to the address listed below.  Please call us at one of the phone numbers below if you have any questions concerning your donation.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1)       Special thanks to the Most Holy Trinity Knights of Columbus in Covington, who donated money for a new sound system for the Rosary marches.  We deeply appreciate their generosity & everyone participating in the Rosary marches will benefit from their donation.
2)       Please pray for Wilson Breaux, a faithful pro-life sidewalk counselor at the abortion facility on Ridgelake Drive.  Wilson will be having quadruple bypass surgery at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4th.  Also, further testing revealed that his left carotid artery is blocked and will need surgery for this once he recuperates from the bypass surgery.
3)       Festival for Life at St. Peter’s Church in Covington, on Saturday, Jan. 16th from 5 to 9 p.m.  Tickets on sale now.  Call 985-892-2422 for more info.

There is nothing which has as much power or more power than prayer.  A king clad in a purple robe is not so splendid as the man who, because he is praying, is adorned by his conversation with God.    Saint John Chrysostom

With the healthcare reform battle looming ahead, let us resolve to spend more time with God in prayer during this new year.

We thank you for your prayers and financial support for this ministry & may God bless you & your families abundantly during this new year!
