Gosnell: Tip of the Iceberg
BATON ROUGE, La. — As the trial of Kermit Gosnell drew to an end, someone who had received little attention was Gosnell’s former boss, Leroy Brinkley. Brinkley is the owner of the Atlantic Women’s Medical Services abortion facility in Wilmington, Del., where Gosnell worked. Brinkley also is the owner of the Delta Clinic in Baton Rouge, La., an abortion business with a deeply troubled past, as well as facilities in New Orleans. Now, there is substantial evidence that a situation resembling elements of the Gosnell case existed for years at the Delta Clinic in Baton Rouge, although the state Department of Health and Hospitals said the facility has improved its operational standards following a 2009 inspection.
Despite a documented history of injured and dead women — as well as allegations of illegal distribution of narcotics, hiring unqualified personnel, failing to report minors, failing to document patients’ procedures and complications, failing to sterilize medical equipment, using rusted equipment on women and multiple failures to maintain basic sanitation — the Delta Clinic remains open and operational. The Delta Clinic refused to comment on this story for the Register, which was compiled from the grand jury report in the Gosnell case, phone and email interviews, affidavits by former workers and patients, multiple lawsuits filed on behalf of women who have had abortions at the facility, news reports and various other documents reviewed by the Register. Please Pray this Prayer for the
Baptism of Aborted Babies
(29 July 1998)
From the Precious Blood Devotion approved by the
local Bishop of Nigeria
Jesus' prayer to God the Father from the Cross
"Today the blood of innocent children has filled heaven. Their number is too great, too great . . . the wrath of the Eternal Father is about to fall on mankind...Their blood disturbs My Agonizing Heart and increases My agony...Through this prayer, large numbers of innocent unborn babies will be saved. Pray it daily and make it known to the world. Anyone who teaches it will not be lost. Innocent souls in heaven will not let them become lost. I, with My Love and Mercy, will protect them from falling into mortal sin." Heavenly Father, Your love is eternal. In Your ocean of love, You saved the world through Your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Now look at Your only Son on the Cross Who is constantly bleeding for love of His people, and forgive Your world. Purify and baptize aborted children with the Precious Blood and water from the Sacred Side of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Who hung dead on the Cross for their salvation; in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. May they, through the holy death of Jesus Christ, gain everlasting life, through His wounds be healed and through His Precious Blood freed. There to rejoice with the saints in heaven. Amen.

Bishop Baker of Birmingham has asked
us to pray for our Public Officials.
Pro-Life Prayer for Our President and Public Officials
Lord
God, Author of Life and Source of Eternal Life, move the hearts of all
our public officials and especially our President, to fulfill their
responsibilities worthily and well to all those entrusted to their
care. Help them in their special leadership roles, to extend the mantle
of protection to the most vulnerable, especially the defenseless
unborn, whose lives are threatened with extermination by an indifferent
society. Guide all public officials by your wisdom and grace to cease
supporting any law that fails to protect the fundamental good that is
human life itself, which is a gift from God and parents. You are the
Protector and Defender of the lives of the innocent unborn. Change the
hearts of those who compromise the call to protect and defend life.
Bring our nation to the values that have made us a great nation, a
society that upholds the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness for all. Mary, the Mother of the living, help us to bear
witness to the Gospel of Life with our lives and our laws, through
Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
Imprimatur: January 22, 2009 + Most Reverend Robert J. Baker Bishop of Birmingham in Alabama

(Evangelium Vitae), n. 100.
"A
great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up
throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer,
may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life,
from every Christian community, from every group and association, from
every family and from the heart of every believer.”
Prayer to End Abortion
Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.
I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son.
I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn.
I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement, And never to stop defending life Until all my brothers and sisters are protected, And our nation once again becomes A nation with liberty and justice Not just for some, but for all. Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Keynote Speaker, Rev. Dr. Tadeusz Pacholczyk, PhD
Director of the National Catholic Bioethics Center
The Bishop’s Annual Respect Life Rally The
Bishop’s Respect Life Rally kicked off at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January
13, 2008. The rally was well attended with various age groups and
attendees from many parishes throughout the diocese. The two, first
place winners of the Annual Pro-Life Orator Speech Contest, Ashely
White and Stephen Brown gave their speeches. The speech contest is
sponsored by the Office of Marriage and family Life of the Diocese of
Baton Rouge. Fr. "Tad" Tadeusz Pacholczyk PhD, director of Education
of the National Catholic Bioethics Center then gave his address. He
eloquently explained the Church’s view on stem cell research. He explained that the Church is not opposed to stem cell research but the destruction of embryonic stem cells. He
went on to explain the adult stem cells have been very effective in
aiding many conditions such as different types of Leukemia, spinal cord
injuries, heart and brain injuries. The embryonic stem cell has not
involved one advancement in the medical or science fields. Fr. Tad
also stated that vitro fertilization has led to embryonic stem cell
research because extra embryos are made and frozen and it is those
embryos that can be used for research. Also, only the frozen embryos
are allowed to be used that were developed before President Bush passed
a law to not allow further “research/destruction” of embryos. Fr. Tad
stated that there are NOW over a half-million frozen humans in the
Unites States alone. “It’s a scandal that the nation has not begun to confront.”
The rally finished off with a rosary march outside on the diocese’s
courtyard lead by the youth and the Knights of Columbus. For further
information on the National Catholic Bioethics Center visit http://www.ncbcenter.org/
