From California to New Orleans, LA

In September 2010, Don Bosco's relics will arrive in the United States of America from Mexico. From Florida, the relic will travel to Washington, DC, where it will be visible at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The relic will then visit New York for several days, including a stop at the Salesians' Marian Shrine for a large Youth Rally and another at St. Patrick's Cathedral. From NY, the relic will travel to Chicago, from where it will prepare to cross yet another international border into Canada! The Relic will visit Toronto, Montreal, and Surrey, before it departs for the Far East on October 10, 2010....Go here to get the entire article from donboscoamongus.org/

The Calix Society Meetings

A.A. restores your health and keeps you from an early grave. Calix saves your soul and puts you on the road to heaven." ??William J. Montroy, a founder of the Calix Society?Go to The Calix Society International Website?Substitute the cup that sanctifies for the cup that stupefies Calix is an international association of Catholic alcoholics (founded in 1942) who are maintaining their sobriety through affiliation with, and participation in, a 12-step alcohol recovery program. The Baton Rouge chapter of The Calix Society invites you to celebrate recovery on the second Saturday of each month at St. Thomas More Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd. (located at Goodwood Blvd. and Sherwood Forest Blvd.) We begin with 8:45 AM Mass in the church (join us in the left third or fourth pews closest to the altar). Benediction immediately follows the Mass. After services, we meet in the church offices (the building in front and to the right as you leave the church). We begin with coffee and donuts, and then have our meeting. We are currently studying “Calix and the Twelve Steps.” Come and see how the rich tradition of the Catholic Church can support and enhance the recovery you have begun in your twelve step recovery meetings.
